The front side of the phone projects a black plastic bezel with a glossy finish, and has a 4.5-inch FWVGA (480x854p) IPS display. Also, Canvas A1 is Micromax's first Android phone to have no hardware capacitive keys for navigation.

Canvas A1 is driven by 1 GB RAM, 4 GB ROM, has an internal memory of 2.1GB for apps storage, and an expandable memory of 32 GB. It works on a 1700 mAh battery with stand-by time of 160 hours and talk-time of 6 hours.

Micromax Canvas A1 offers a Dual SIM option and is stuffed with non-removable pre-loaded apps like Amazon, Hike, M!Live and AskMe. It also supports sensors like G-sensor, Proximity, and Light Sensor.
